Fall is blowing its way in.

The leaves are already starting to gather on the ground, yet a warm breeze is still with us.

The PSL, aka Pumpkin Spice Latte has already rolled out at Starbucks.

That really screams Fall.

But what if we’re not ready for all the pumpkin goodness, just yet?

Labor Day may be over, but summer’s not over yet.

Until September 23 rolls around and Fall really begins, here are five drinks from various coffee shops to get you ready for the season ahead, and do not contain one of the season’s primary ingredients, Pumpkin!

  1. Salted Butterscotch coffee (iced or hot), The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

There’s a lot of Salted Caramel Mocha drinks out on the horizon right now, but Salted Butterscotch? That takes things to a whole new level.

2. Mayan Mocha, (iced or hot), Peet’s Coffee & Tea:

Espresso with a kick? Yes, that’s what the Mayan Mocha is all about. It’s known on Peet’s website as a “Seasonal Favorite,” combining espresso, steamed milk, Dutch cocoa, sweet cinnamon, and a kick of pepper. I can attest to the deliciousness of this drink, it’s sweet but not overly sweet, as the spices give it a nice warm Fall kick that is nowhere near Pumpkin’s door.

3. S’mores Mocha (Iced, hot or frozen), Seattle’s Best Coffee

Because what says this in-between time of Summer and Fall like a S’more? And the fact you can get this hot, iced or frozen, means you can move between fluctuating temperatures with ease.

4.  Vanilla Chai (hot), Dunkin’ Donuts

Tea time isn’t just for afternoons! Chai with its blend of spices, is perfect to warm you up on a Fall day. And a touch of Vanilla gives it a sweet touch.

5.  Signature Hot Chocolate (hot), Panera Bread

This is a hot chocolate, of the various hot chocolates across the country. Panera upped its game when it switched its original hot chocolate formula over to this, including bittersweet chocolate flavored syrup, foamed milk, whipped cream, chocolate chip marshmallows and drizzled with salted caramel sauce. If this doesn’t scream Fall minus pumpkin, I don’t know what does.
